With a career spanning two decades, Aequus+// had an amazing reign in the Arabian horse world.

Blessed with a tremendous amount of natural movement, which is the highlight of the Arabian Park Horse division, Aequus has become an icon. He won his first U.S. National Champion Park Horse honor in 1997, after winning two Canadian National Champion Park Horse awards in 1995 and 1996. He then repeated the U.S. accomplishment in 1998 and 2005. In 2007 he also added the amateur title to his open championship at Arabian Horse Association (AHA) U.S. Nationals padding his resume with unprecedented accomplishments .

Owned by Hazelbank Investments, Aequus+//, the winningest park horse in the history of the Arabian breed in the United States, is the only horse to have won the open and amateur park horse championship in the same year â€" and he accomplished this at the age of 19.

"Aequus was a-once-in-a-lifetime horse, for both his amazing ability to trot, and his personality." said trainer, William (Bill) Rodgers, who has had the privilege of working with the horse for over a decade. This was a sentiment shared by many, including the United States Equestrian Federation when Aequus was recognized as a Horse of Honor in 2007. He was also awarded a Legion of Excellence Achievement Award by the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), recognizing his feat of accumulating more than 300 points at any combination of AHA-recognized events.

“Aequus stands 14.2 hands tall, but he's is a giant at heart, said Rodgers. “He's never failed to give us 100%. I wish that everyone who's owned a show horse could experience one like this. The crowd loved him as much as we do!â€

Aequus was honored in a retirement ceremony in 2008 by carrying the American flag at the U.S. National Arabian and Half-Arabian National Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, finishing his show career as the most successful Arabian Park Horse in history.

Aequus has secured his place as a legend and with his offspring, will continue to thrill generations to come.
